Completed at the end of summer 2018, the Howard High School of Technology in Wilmington, DE was a unique challenge. Restore a 1930s dual use space (not your typical "gymnatorium") and make it functional for today's needs. A large dividing Skyfold wall separates the gym from the "stage" area, side masking curtains roll down from above, and stage lighting equipment on motorized pipes deploy, to create a defined stage space when needed. The audio system speakers are hidden in the architecture to help maintain the historic nature of the room.

Wow... Has it really been this long? We've been so busy, we've neglected this site, choosing to update on Facebook when we can. The list of projects we've completed or are still working on continues to grow... Brandywine HS and Howard HS of Technology in Wilmington, DE; Liberty HS in the New York Catskills; Strough Middle School, Madison HS, and Jamesville-DeWitt HS in Central New York; Gates-Chili HS in Rochester; Pentucket and Scituate High Schools in the Boston area, Bethlehem HS outside of Albany, NY... The list goes on and on... And that doesn't count some of the Project Management services we are providing for Thomas Jefferson HS in Pittsburgh and Villanova University in Philadelphia.

We've completed two projects recently - Wilmington HS in Wilmington, MA in March and Laurel HS in Laurel, DE this April. On both projects, Scheu Consulting, in collaboration with TSG Design Solutions, provided general Theatre Consulting and Systems Design services for the Performance Rigging, Lighting, and Audio/Video systems. Both have been well received by the school districts, staff, students and the community at large.

At their last meeting in March of 2015, members of the American Society of Theatre Consultants (ASTC) named Peter Scheu to its Board of Directors. Peter is honored and humbled by the trust placed in him by his fellow members. Directors at the ASTC currently serve for a one year term.

Peter Scheu was among the consultants interviewed for the Wnter 2015 issue of Protocol, published by PLASA. Entitled "A Consultant Brings Specialized
Expertise to Define and Influence Change (Part 1)", the article invites readers to "Learn about consulting in the entertainment technology industry as Protocol shares Part 1 of a Q&A with a cross-section of highly-respected industry consultants".

The Cab Calloway School for the Arts renovation is about to come online... This exciting project brings the school's program into the Twenty First Century with a complete overhaul of its main performance venue and all the technical systems. Included in these is a sophisticated video presentation and control system that utilizes multiple camera and projector locations, as well as large format video screens on either side of the proscenium opening and as performance monitors. A gala opening night performance is scheduled for October 9 with the world-renowned youth pianist Ethan Bortnick. Here are a couple of "before" and "after" photos of the space:

Things are moving apace at the new North Reading High School outside of Boston, MA... Check out these construction progress photos:
The lighting and rigging systems at North Reading High School are scheduled to be comissioned in mid-August 2014.

The Sanford School in Hockessin, DE is starting to move forward with a major addition to their performing arts program. Scheu Consulting Services will be working with Fearn-Clendaniel Architects out of Wilmington, DE to create a new, intimate 450 seat auditorium and support spaces. The space will be outfitted with new stage rigging, lighting, and audio/video systems, and room acoustic designs provided by Scheu Consulting Services.

We seem to be taking New York State's North Country by storm... Our re-rig project at SUNY Plattsburgh is bidding and will complete this summer. Carthage HS, with its new rigging and updated lighting system has just completed. Potsdam HS's auditorium is about to get some upgrades, and the Salmon River Central School project is now offically in its design phase - A complete gut of their existing auditorium with all new rigging, lighting, AV, and room acoustics designed by Scheu Consulting Services.
Also, one of our recent projects was mentioned in The 25 Most Amazing College Campus Theaters - SUNY Fredonia at #19.

Scheu Consulting Services, Inc. has been chosen as the system designer and consultant for the replacement of stage riggings systems at SUNY Plattsburgh. This will be the third SUNY project for the company, following similar sucessful projects at SUNY Fredonia and SUNY Oneonta. The work is expected to be completed by the end of Summer of 2014.
