Point
Park University in Pittsburgh, PA, is planning a new $10 million facility
to house it renowned Dance
program. Point Park University’s Dance program has been called one of
the "three places
that will get you to Broadway."
Working with StoweNash Associates, Scheu Consulting Services
is designing a one of a kind stage rigging system that will allow an open
floor dance studio to be converted to a theatrical space, compete with legs,
borders, drops and lighting pipes, all at the push of a button (well, maybe a
couple of buttons!). In the Theatre configuration, the space becomes a dance
production teaching lab, which will add to Point Park University’s already prized
reputation.
This project will
be bid in early 2007.
