Palmyra Area High School (PA)
Stage Rigging, Draperies, and Pit Filler Systems
The Palmyra
Area School District, right next door to Hershey, PA, is planning a
significant renovation of their existing high school. Scheu Consulting Services, Inc. will be providing the designs
and specifications for the new stage rigging, stage draperies, and pit filler
systems.
The project is being managed
by Architects Reese Lower Patrick &
Scott of Lancaster, PA. The
existing stage, originally designed solely for music programming, currently
has no fly systems. A combination system of motorized and dead hung rigging
will be installed to make the facility more user-friendly for theatrical
productions, along with a complete package of stage masking draperies. Also,
a new pit filler system will replace the old and unwieldy steel framed pit
filler system. The new pit filler system will also make the orchestra pit ADA
compliant.
This project was bid
in late November of 2005 with completion scheduled for the summer of 2007.
