Stage Rigging
Refurbishments
 
The
stage rigging systems in the Goodrich Theatre at the State
University of New York College at Oneonta are scheduled to be
refurbished during the winter of 2004-2005. Scheu Consulting Services
has been selected to provide specifications and project oversight services
for the College.
New
cables, fittings, rope, arbors and other items will bring the Goodrich
Theatre’s stage rigging systems up to current safety standards. This will
provide the staff and students with a reliable and safe system for many more
years to come.
 
The
systems are original to the theatre, which was built in the early late 1960’s
during the “baby boom” SUNY system construction explosion. Of course, what
was standard rigging practice back then won’t pass muster now. Needless to say, they were overdue for
updates and we’re delighted to help them out!
This project was completed during the school’s
2004-2005 winter
break.
